After Yang

AFTER YANG

Review: A sci-fi drama in which a man makes a significant discovery when his family’s A.I. helper unexpectedly breaks down.
Director: Kogonada
Actors: Colin Farrell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja, Justin H. Min, Orlagh Cassidy, Ritchie Coster, Sarita Choudhury, Clifton Collins Jr., Ava DeMary, Adeline Kerns, Ansley Kerns, Haley Lu Richardson, Brett Dier, Eve Lindley, Nana Mensah, An-Li Bogan and Deborah Hedwall
Year: 2021
Genre: Drama and Sci-Fi
Conclusion: 3/5
Adapted from a short story “Saying Goodbye to Yang” by Alexander Weinstein. I have to say that this didn’t grip me like Ex Machina (2014) did. The themes it focuses on are grief, family, loss, love and even memory.
