Conclusion: 4/5
I thought that each of the performances were really strong. I haven’t seen a bad film yet with Adam Driver in. He always gives an amazing performance. I very much enjoyed the musical score in this. I did feel that there were some scenes in this that were really horrifying and hard to watch. Having said that there were some scenes that I found really moving. I thought that Spike Lee has done an amazing job directing this film. Apparently, the real Ron Stallworth had originally wanted Denzel Washington to play him, but was ecstatic to find out his son got the role. At the Academy Awards in 2019 this won 1 Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. At the Bafta Awards in 2019 this won 1 award for Best Screenplay (Adapted).
