A very brave film to make. When I first found out they were making this film I was slightly worried that it would be too soon and still too recent. Anthony Maras has directed this very well and also very sensitively. This is his debut theatrical feature film by the writer-producer and director. This is not an easy watch at all and very brutal all the way through. It is believed that the filmmakers were given access to original transcripts of intercepted cell (mobile) calls between the ten terrorists and their handlers. I have been thinking about this film after and thought the centre of the film was not the actual attack but the way in which the people respond and the unbelievable heroism of ordinary people. Dev Patel as always was brilliant and gave an outstanding performance. In 2010 a memorial monument was erected in the lobby at the Taj Palace Hotel to commemorate the victims and fatalities from the 2008 siege. In the end I found it to be a really amazing emotional story.
