THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS
Review: When they turn 16, four lifelong friends plan to stay connected with one another as their lives take them in different directions. What they decide to do is pass around a pair of secondhand jeans that fits each of them.
Director: Ken Kwapis
Actors: Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, Jenna Boyd, Bradley Whitford, Nancy Travis, Rachel Ticotin, Mike Vogel, Michael Rady, Leonardo Nam, George Touliatos, Kyle Schmid and Erica Hubbard
Year: 2005
Genre: Comedy, Drama and Romance
Conclusion: 2/5
What Ken Kwapis doesn’t do in this film is concentrate on the most important aspects of the story. Also what isn’t done very well is the relationship between Blake Lively’s character and Alexis Bledel’s. Both of their holiday romances feel cliched and flimsy. Each of the actors gave it everything but they just didn’t have enough material to work with. The script was poorly written. There was a sequel to this called The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 out in 2008. I have to say that I will not be bothering with it. This is just a quote from Peter Bradshaw’s review “I don’t know about “travelling” – but pants is certainly what this is.”.
