Anthropoid

ANTHROPOID
anthropoid
Review: Based on the extraordinary true story of Operation Anthropoid. This was the WWII mission to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich who was the main architect behind the final solution and also the Reich’s third in command after Hitler and Himmler.
Director: Sean Ellis
Actors: Jamie Dornan, Cillian Murphy, Brian Caspe and Toby Jones
Year: 2016
Genre: Biography, Drama, History, Thriller and War
Conclusion: 4/5
This is a story that I knew nothing about but should be taught in all schools. A bit of history that has been forgotten about. I thought that the music at the end was amazing, especially with Cillian Murphy just standing looking at the camera. This scene alone says so much and has so much meaning. The last scene is incredibly bleak, plus you can almost guess what is going to happen at that point. The cinematography was well done. It is so tense that you can’t relax even for a second plus there is so much going on all the time that you never lose interest. Two great performances from two Irish actors, Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dorman. If you think about this film it is about how actions have their own consequences and that everything has a price to pay. The word Anthropoid means “resembling a human being in form”.
