Hail, Caesar!

HAIL, CAESAR!
Hail, Caesar!
Review: This is set during the latter years of Hollywood’s Golden Age. It follows a studio fixer who works to keep the studio’s stars in line.
Directors: Ethan Coen and Joel Coen
Actors: Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill
Year: 2016
Genre: Comedy
Conclusion: 4/5
Great to see such a brilliant well done comedy that isn’t crude. I found this really funny. It was just such a pleasure to watch. Loved the music in this. So much better than so many comedies out there. Such a brilliant cast. Apparently this was shelved for over a decade. The Coens then revealed that it would be their third part of the ‘Numbskull Trilogy’. The other two films included in the trilogy are O’ Brother, Where Art Thou? and also Intolerable Cruelty. George Clooney has been in all of these films and also worked together with Ethan and Joel Coen on Burn After Reading. It is a film that has divided critics and the public who have been going to the cinema to see this. This has been described as a Marmite film in the way that you will either love it or hate it. I came out of the screening wanting to go back in and see it again I enjoyed it so much.

  1. I love all of the Cohen brothers films, and am really looking forward to seeing this! I didn’t know it was part of a set of films they were making, that’s really interesting.

What was it that meant that it only got 4/5? I’d be interested to know before I see it so that I can see if I agree 🙂

    1. Thank you for your comment and thank you for reading my film review. I really love getting feedback from my readers. I only gave this film 4 stars as it is just a bit of fun and not destined to be a classic despite the fact that this is very funny.
      Thank’s Beth
