WOMAN IN GOLD
Woman in Gold
Review: A true story about a Jewish refugee named Maria Altman who takes on the Austrian government to recover artwork. This artwork she believes belongs to her family.
Director: Simon Curtis
Actors: Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Bruhl, Katie Holmes and Charles Dance
Year: 2015
Genre: Drama
Conclusion: 3/5
One of the best performances by Helen Mirren. It never lost its plot at all in any of the places. It kept to the main story. There was never a moment where you wondered what the time was. Each scene moved very quickly. I never knew anything about this story before hand. Very interesting. Andrew Garfield was originally cast but dropped out. The real Maria Altman died in 2011 at the age of 94. This film just shows that, yet again, true stories can make the best films.
