STOKER
Review: After India’s father dies, her uncle Charlie comes to live with her and her unstable mum. India has never met her uncle before and starts to become increasingly infatuated with him.
Director: Chan-wook Park
Actors: Matthew Goode, Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska
Year: 2013
Genre: Drama, Horror and Thriller
Conclusion: 3/5
A very Hitchcockian style thriller. There have been comparisons to Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt. This is a very dark, creepy and disturbing film. This is an 18 certificate film. Colin Firth was cast in this film but dropped out. Jodie Foster and Carey Mulligan were also cast in this but both dropped out. I loved all the performances and thought that they all did a fantastic job. They were all very convincing in the parts that they played.
