Loved this film!!! Didn’t notice the time going at all. Christopher Lee reads The Lord of the Rings once a year and has done since the books been published. More than 1,600 pairs of latex ears and feet were used during the shoots. In 2002 the film won 4 Oscars. They were for Best Cinematography, Best Effects, Visual Effects, Best Makeup and Best Music, Original Score. At the Baftas it won Best Achievement in Special Visual Effects, Best Film and Best Make Up/Hair. Peter Jackson got an award for David Lean Award for Direction.
