THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY

Review: Bilbo Baggins sets off on a journey with thirteen dwarfs. They go to a mountain which was taken over by a dragon called Smaug.
Director: Peter Jackson
Actors: Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Aidan Turner and Benedict Cumberbatch
Year: 2012
Genre: Fantasy, Action and Adventure
Conclusion: 4/5
So much better than I thought it was going to be. Excellent performance from Martin Freeman. Ian McKellen I felt held the whole film together and I also thought that they couldn’t have done the film without him. James Nesbitt was also good. Found him to be quite funny. Peter Jackson did a fantastic job. The only problem that I did have with the film was that I did feel like it was a bit too long especially in the opening scene and a lot of the scenes could have been cut slightly. The script was really good. Even though this was filmed in 48 frames per second after a while you don’t even notice. Films are usually filmed in 24 frames per second.
