Conclusion: 3/5
Here we see Jenny Agutter return as the grandma (She played Roberta in the 1968 TV mini-series, The Railway Children (film version) 1970 and again but as the mother in the 2000 TV Movie). I did feel that this 2022 version would have been better made as a TV Christmas Movie rather than a full feature length film. Lovely as always to see Tom Courtenay who I did feel rather lifted the film when he came on screen. The one good thing I can say about this is that it is one that all the family can sit down to and enjoy. However, I still don’t think that you can beat the classic 1970 version of The Railway Children.
