Conclusion: 5/5
A fabulous comedy from director Ernst Lubitsch. This is Carole Lombard’s final film role as she sadly died in a plane crash while the movie was in post-production. I thought this was very funny and original. The most memorable line in this is “What he did to Shakespeare we are now doing to Poland”. The late film critic Barry Norman composed a list in 2012 in the Radio Times of the 100 Greatest Films ever made and this was amongst the list.
