Review: A Yale Law student is drawn back to his Ohio hometown, where he looks back on his family’s history and his own future.
Director: Ron Howard
Actors: Amy Adams, Glenn Close, Gabriel Basso, Haley Bennett, Freida Pinto, Bo Hopkins, Owen Asztalos, Jesse C. Boyd, Stephen Kunken, Keong Sim, Morgan Gao, Ethan Suess, Jono Mitchell, Bill Kelly and David Dwyer
Directed by the same director who created Apollo 13 (1995) and A Beautiful Mind (2001). This is based on a memoir written by J. D. Vance. At the end of the film there are photos during the credits and I was amazed and shocked at how much the actors looked just like the real family. I thought that both Amy Adams and Glenn Close give terrific performances. With them giving such terrific performances I did however feel like they were over acting and I thought they did this in order for this film to be an awards contender. The thing I was most impressed with was their make-up and hair. I enjoyed the musical score by Hans Zimmer.
