Conclusion: 3/5
I really liked this film although I know it isn’t a film to everybody’s taste. The Miss Juneteenth is a real contest in Texas. A directorial debut from Channing Godfrey Peoples. Watching this I almost felt like I knew the characters and have been with them on their journey. I could sympathize with all the characters. I could look at in one way and say that it is really about a mother and daughter relationship. The themes in this film are love, hope and change.
