I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO

Review: Raoul Peck envisions the book “Remember This House” that writer James Baldwin never finished. James Baldwin died in 1987, and left behind only 30 completed pages of this manuscript. The book was to be about race in America and a revolutionary, personal account of the lives and assassinations of three of his friends: Martin Luther King Jr, Medgar Evers and Malcolm X.
Director: Raoul Peck
Actors: Samuel L. Jackson, James Baldwin, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Robert F. Kennedy, Harry Belafonte, Dick Cavett, H. Rap Brown, Bob Dylan, Sidney Poitier, Ray Charles and Doris Day
Year: 2016
Genre: Documentary and History
Conclusion: 4/5
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The original film clips were expertly put together. This is a film that has really made me think. There is so much to enjoy and to get out of this film. I found this to be just the right length for this sort of film. In 2018 this won one Bafta Award for Best Documentary.
