Vita and Virginia

VITA AND VIRGINIA

Review: A true story about the love affair between writers Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West.
Director: Chanya Button
Actors: Gemma Arterton, Elizabeth Debicki, Isabella Rossellini, Rupert Penry-Jones, Peter Ferdinando, Emerald Fennell, Gethin Anthony, Rory Fleck Byrne, Karla Crome, Adam Gillen, Brenock O’Connor and Sam Hardy
Year: 2018
Genre: Biography, Drama and Romance
Conclusion: 3/5
A film that doesn’t completely go together. There is something wrong about it but I can’t quite put my finger on it. While I was watching it, it passed the time quite adequately. Good performances from Gemma Arterton and also Elizabeth Debicki. Eva Green was originally cast as Virginia Woolf but dropped out to star in another film instead. It was then announced that Andrea Riseborough had replaced her. Three months later she then dropped out and Elizabeth Debicki was cast.
