A Private War

A PRIVATE WAR

Review: Based on the life of the war correspondent Marie Colvin who was always driven to the frontline of conflicts across the globe to give voice to the voiceless.
Director: Matthew Heineman
Actors: Rosamund Pike, Alexandra Moen, Tom Hollander, Faye Marsay, Jesuthasan Antonythasan, Natasha Jayetileke, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Fady Elsayed, Corey Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Greg Wise and Stanley Tucci
Year: 2018
Genre: Biography, Drama and War
Conclusion: 3/5
Such an amazing story. I found it to be a really tense film. Rosamund Pike gives a good performance. I never once looked at Rosamund Pike and thought she was acting. All the performances were real to me. Always good to see Tom Hollander. Taron Egerton was originally cast but ended up dropping out. He was replaced with Jamie Dornan. The only thing in my opinion that could be improved on is the script writing. This is described by the director as “a psychological portrait of Marie Colvin”.
