Review: Based on the Ugandan dictator Idi Amin and it’s regime seen by his personal physical Dr. Garrigan who himself tried to escape Uganda alive during the 1970’s.

Based on a novel by Giles Foden. James McAvoy’s performance was terrific plus he has a hard role but plays it very convincingly. Forest Whitaker gives an electrifying performance. The director Kevin Macdonald and his producers went to go and meet Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni to get permission to film in Uganda. At the Academy Awards in 2007 this won one Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Forest Whitaker). At the Golden Globe Awards in 2007 this won for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama (Forest Whitaker). At the Bafta Awards in 2007 this won 3 Awards. They were for the Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film, Best Screenplay – Adapted and also Best Actor in a Leading Role (Forest Whitaker).
