Genre: Crime and Drama
Conclusion: 3/5
Ryan Gosling tries his best but the film never really gets going. There were times where I wasn’t quite sure where it was going or what was happening. I never knew where I was time wise. Kirsten Dunst was good considering she shot this film shortly after having treatment for depression. There is a scene in this film where Ryan Gosling had to pull Kirsten Dunst’s hair, he felt so bad about the scene that he sent her flowers the day after. I am surprised that this film was allowed to get made as the story is still so recent and fresh in people’s minds although the real person that David Marks is based on visited the set of the film being made and watched from a distance. Another story that is similar to this is ‘Reversal of Fortune’ (1990).
