The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART

Review: It’s been five years since everything was awesome; the citizens are facing a huge new threat: Lego Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than it can be rebuilt. The battle to defeat the invaders and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take the characters to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.
Director: Mike Mitchell
Actors: Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Jadon Sand, Brooklynn Prince, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade
Year: 2019
Genre: Action, Adventure, Animation and Comedy
Conclusion: 4/5
Once again great entertainment. Having watched the first Lego Movie film you pretty much know what you are going in for. Great ensemble cast and once again great jokes. Interestingly the opening bars of Everything’s Not Awesome has a similar piano and guitar arrangement as Karma Police by Radiohead, hence the reference to the band in the song’s lyrics. Even though the cast was brilliant, Will Ferrell doesn’t appear on screen except for reused footage which was used in the first film; in this film only his voice is heard. While watching this you forget that two siblings are playing the game. A film for all ages to enjoy. As good as this is, I don’t think it is as good as the first film, as the first was a new idea and completely original. However, I still enjoyed it. A film that is still awesome!
