Buried

BURIED

Director: Rodrigo Cortes

Year: 2010
Genre: Drama, Mystery and Thriller
Conclusion: 3/5
If you are the type of person that is claustrophobic then do not watch this. Even towards the end of the filming Ryan Reynolds started to suffer from Claustrophobia and said that he never wants to experience anything like that again. Throughout the filming they used seven coffins. I know that the review for this sounds really boring but for 1 hour 35mins it goes really quickly and is very entertaining in a dark comedic way. Considering it is just one main actor (Ryan Reynolds) in this I thought he did a really good job, I never once got bored or fed up throughout the whole film. I can’t think of another actor who could have played the part as well as him. I found this to be really gripping and it is largely due to the script being well written and well thought out. The director has done a fantastic job directing this. It is about the fear of being buried alive and also the fear of being put on hold on the phone. The only thing I was disappointed with was the ending. This also reminded me of the film Phone Booth (2002). One word of advice is just remember to keep on breathing!!
