Year: 2011
Genre: Comedy and Drama
Conclusion: 4/5
Based on a novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings. Watching this I didn’t really think anything about it apart from that it is perfectly fine as a film. As soon as I got to the last scene I then started thinking about what a fantastic film this actually is. Days after I was still thinking about it. I found it funny and also very moving at times. It suddenly hit me in a way I wasn’t expecting at all. I became very emotional. I have now watched this film twice and both times enjoyed it. Miles Teller auditioned to play the character Sid but lost out to Nick Krause. Also Amanda Seyfried and Kristen Stewart auditioned for parts in the film. At the Academy Awards in 2012 this won one award and that was for Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay. At the Golden Globe Awards in 2012 this won two awards and they were for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama (George Clooney) and also won for Best Motion Picture – Drama.
