The Moon and the Sledgehammer

THE MOON AND THE SLEDGEHAMMER

Review: This follows Mr.Page, and his four children, two daughters and two sons, how they live their life in the woods in southern England, Sussex. They lack gas, electricity and indoor plumbing.
Director: Philip Trevalyan
Year: 1971
Genre: Documentary
Conclusion: 4/5
A very interesting documentary. It just reminds us of how life used to be in the 1960’s or even earlier than that. A very thought provoking film. Just re-released about a year ago (2016), the director spent about 18 months literally taping the film back together frame-by-frame. About 20 years ago the director went back to visit the family but found it very run down and has long since lost in touch with the whole family. No one knows what happened to this family.
