Conclusion: 3/5
An amazing true life story and one that I had never heard of before. This did remind me of the film The Perfect Storm (2000). There isn’t really much depth to the story. The cast is fantastic and they all acted really well especially Casey Affleck who I thought put 100% into this performance. When this film was in post- production it lasted well over a year requiring 1,000 visual effects shots. They use a vintage police car and this was borrowed from the Orleans Police Department, a Cape Cod town not far from Chatham. Plot Spoiler – When the real Andy Fitzgerald saw the finished film at the premier, he said “I had no idea it was that dangerous!”. The themes that are strong in this are hope, faith and fate, all to be found in the story of an epic sea rescue.
