The Falling

THE FALLING

Review: A story set in the year 1969 at a strict English girls’ school. Abbie and Lydia are best friends. A tragedy occurs at the school and afterwards a mysterious fainting epidemic breaks out.
Director: Carol Morley
Actors: Maxine Peake, Maisie Williams and Florence Pugh
Year: 2014
Genre: Drama
Conclusion: 4/5
Based on real life events. A very British film. As well as Carol Morley directing she also wrote it. She is also a great English film maker alongside Amma Asante and Lynne Ramsay. Maisie Williams is brilliant in this. She is the strongest character. It is a film that once you see it the more you think about days after. The music was fantastic and had an strangeness to it. It made the film even more real. This is a very thoughtful and unforgettable movie. It is highly original and unique.
