Review: The true story of Frank W. Abagnale. Before his 19th birthday he successfully conned millions of dollars. He had job as a doctor, a lawyer and as a co-pilot. He is also a brilliant forger. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty has made it his mission to capture him. However Frank is always one step ahead of him.
Director: Steven Spielberg
Actors: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner
Year: 2002
Genre: Action, Adventure, Biography, Crime and Drama
Conclusion: 4/5
This is a film that on its initial release didn’t get great reviews from film critics. A brilliant film staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. This is Steven Spielberg’s most enjoyable movie. Leonardo DiCaprio is especially brilliant in this. The first cut of the film was about 90% authentic, some scenes were corrected, added and changed as per request of the real Frank Abagnale Jr. to ensure total authenticity. There is a fantastic score by composer John Williams. This film deals with themes of broken homes and troubled childhoods. A film you can watch time and time again and never get fed up with. At the Bafta Awards in 2003 this won one award and that was for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Christopher Walken).
