Review: Adam Jones is a chef who moves to London to revive his career and gets a third Michelin Star. Before moving to London he destroyed his career with drugs and diva behaviour.
Director: John Wells
Actors: Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Daniel Bruhl, Emma Thompson, Uma Thurman, Alicia Vikander and Lily James
Year: 2015
Genre: Comedy and Drama
Conclusion: 2/5
A star studded cast including big names such as Bradley Cooper and Emma Thompson. Both Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller worked together on American Sniper (2014). The thing I enjoyed most about this was seeing scenes of London. It is really unusual to have a film set in London. I am not too sure about the name Adam Jones. I don’t think it flows well as a name. It doesn’t suit Bradley Cooper’s character. At the age of eight Bradley Cooper either wanted to be an actor or a chef. Although I do admire John Wells as a director I have to say that this is not his best work. Another film that he has recently worked on which I particularly enjoyed is August: Osage County. There isn’t really anything new that we haven’t already seen before. If you want a good food movie to watch seek out Chef (2014) or The Hundred – Foot Journey (2014). David Fincher was originally down to direct this in 2008, with Keanu Reeves attached to star. David Fincher left the project in 2010. I enjoyed the sound track to this film noticing after that one of the songs was performed by Bradley Cooper. According to the Rotten Tomatoes Website it states “this is a remarkably funny, emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances”. I was half expecting a little cameo from Gordon Ramsay!!
