NOTTING HILL

Review: William Thacker is a bookseller at a shop in Notting Hill. Anna Scott strolls into the shop who is a well known actress from the United States and is filming in London. Their relationship starts blossoming.
Director: Roger Michell
Actors: Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts, Richard McCabe, Rhys Ifans, James Dreyfus and Hugh Bonneville
Year: 1999
Genre: Comedy, Drama and Romance
Conclusion: 4/5
This film reunites Hugh Grant and screenwriter Richard Curtis who both worked together on the international hit Four Weddings And A Funeral. This is a film I can watch over and over again and never get tired of. The house that is used with the blue door is a real house and once belonged to Richard Curtis. The door to the house was removed and auctioned. When a new door was fitted it was painted black so no one would recognize it. In real life the bookshop is actually an antiques shop, next to a butcher. Apparently at the Bafta Awards in 2000 this won the Audience Award.
