Conclusion: 3/5
I can’t believe how quickly they have made this Biography as it was only a few years ago when this all happened. I can imagine someone like Eric Bana or Gerard Butler playing Bradley Cooper’s part. Great to see Bradley Cooper doing something different. He has done well to get out of the comedies like The Hangover  films. This is the best film I have seen Sienna Miller star in. The only criticism that I have is that I did find that it went on too long. How true to the real story it is I don’t know. Originally Steven Spielberg was up for directing this and then it got passed on to Clint Eastwood. Apparently Spielberg wanted to expand the role of the Iraqi sniper but Eastwood stripped things back so that we observe the action through American eyes only. This is a very gripping story. I did not have a clue as to what was going to happen at the end. Just before Chris Kyle’s tragic death Bradley Cooper spoke to him on the phone. To get Bradley Cooper into shape for this film the Navy SEALs trained him up. At the Academy Awards this won one Oscar and that was for Best Achievement in Sound Editing.
