At the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 this won two awards. The first award was to the female ensemble cast (Best Actress Award) and the second one was for Best Screenplay (Pedro Almodovar). Penelope Cruz became the first Spanish actress to be nominated for Best Lead Actress at the Oscars. This film is subtitled so you have got to read the writing. The title of this film translates as ‘coming back’ and has several other meanings. This is a very thought provoking film and has got a lot of dark humour in it.
