The Theory of Everything

The Theory of Everything
Review: This tells the story of scientist Stephen Hawking and his relationship with his first wife Jane.
Director: James Marsh
Actors: Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones
Year: 2014
Genre: Biography, Drama and Romance
Conclusion: 4/5
A very well made and brave film to make. Watching this you don’t think that it is Eddie Redmanyne. His performance is outstanding. I feel that Felicity Jones has been a bit sidelined by Eddie Redmanyne but it is about the story of her memoir. I have heard that some people have watched this and complained that there isn’t really any science but it is not about that. Very moving and uplifting. A few years ago there was a documentary made about Stephen Hawking in which Benedict Cumberbatch portrayed Hawking. This film took the writer Anthony McCarten 10 years to bring to the screen. At the Academy Awards in 2015 Eddie Redmayne won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. At the Golden Globe Awards in 2015 this won 2 Awards and they were for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama (Eddie Redmayne) and also for Best Original Score – Motion Picture. At the Bafta Awards also 2015 it won 3 Awards and they were for the Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film, Best Leading Actor and also for Best Adapted Screenplay.
