The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger
Review: A Native American warrior named Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid. John Reid was a man of the law and into a legend of justice.
Director: Gore Verbinski
Actors: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter
Year: 2013
Genre: Action, Adventure, Family and Western
Conclusion: 2/5
Just another Pirates of the Caribbean film and from the same director. Johnny Depp doing what he is best at. The first half an hour was really good and really engaging. It just gets a bit tedious and the film goes on for a bit too long. The middle of the film is very tiresome. Johnny Depp’s performance is supposed to be amusing but just gets embarrassing after a while. There is a runaway train sequence which is quite cleverly done. Apparently this is a film that was going to get made in 2011 but because they didn’t have enough money the project was stalled. This film is one of the biggest financial flops of all time. The Lone Ranger began life as a radio serial in the 1930’s before graduating to t.v. between 1949 and 1957.
