Review: Jerry Lundegaard crime falls apart. This is due to his henchmen’s incompetence and the persistent police work.
Director: Joel Coen and Ethan Coen

Year: 1996
Genre: Crime, Drama and Thriller
Conclusion: 4/5
I have to say that I am not a fan of the Coen Brothers but I did actually enjoy this film a lot more than I thought I would. The film is loosely based on real events although the story is entirely fictional. At the Academy Awards in 1997 this won 2 Oscars. They were for Best Actress in a Leading Role and also for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen. At the Bafta Awards that same year Joel Coen won the David Lean Award for Direction. In 1996 Joel Cohen won a Golden Globe Award at the Cannes Film Festival for Best Director. One film critic wrote “Dark, gritty, and brilliant. Not for kids”.
