Toy Story

TOY STORY

Review: Selection of toys who are best friends. They all get on but there is one new addition to the group and that is Buzz Lightyear. Woody is not very happy about this and is threatened and also gets a bit jealous.
Director: John Lasseter
Actors: Tom Hanks and Tim Allen
Year: 1995
Genre: Animation and Comedy
Conclusion: 5/5
One of the best animations ever made and one that the whole family can enjoy. Everyone went crazy for it when it came out. There had never been anything like this before. Everything about this movie is brilliant. The script, all the characters, the animation and the music. Very entertaining. This was the first ever full-length computer animated film. Billy Crystal was offered the part of Buzz Lighyear but declined. He now says that it was one of the biggest mistakes he has ever made in his career. In 2013 this film was remade shot-for-shot with real toys and real people. This took Jonason Pauley and his friends two years to complete the 82 minute film. At the Academy Awards in 1996 John Lasseter won a special award and that was for the development and inspired application of techniques that have made possible the first feature-length computer animated film. This is on Barry Norman’s list of 100 Greatest Films of all time that he produced at the start of 2012 in the Radio Times.
