Best work from James Cameron. Really good. Gwyneth Paltrow was originally going to play Rose. The staircase in this film is much bigger than the one on the actual Titanic. James Cameron spent longer on the ship than the actual passengers themselves. It was 100 years ago this years ago this year when the Titanic sank. At the Oscars in 1998 it won Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Director, Best Effects-Sound Effects Editing, Best Effects-Visual Effects, Best Film Editing, Best Music-Original Dramatic Score, Best Music-Original Song, Best Picture and Best Sound. At the Golden Globes it won Best Motion Picture-Drama, Best Director-Motion Picture, Best Original Score-Motion Picture and Best Original Song-Motion Picture.
