Excellent film!!! Won 4 Oscars in 2001. Best Cinematography, Score, Art Direction and The Best Foreign Language Film. In the Baftas it won the Best Music, Best Costume Design, Best Film not in the English Language and for Best Direction. At the Golden Globes it also won Best Direction and Best Foreign Language Film. In 2001, this became the first foreign language film to earn over $100 million in the U.S. This is on Barry Norman’s list of 100 Greatest Films of all time that he produced at the start of 2012.
