This is a brilliant black and white classic film. Based on a story by Mary Orr called The Wisdom of Eve. Eve is a very selfish character who only thinks about herself. In 1951 at the Oscars this won 6 Academy Awards. They were for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Costume Design, Black and White, Best Director, Best Picture, Best Sound, Recording and Best Writing, Screenplay. At the Bafta Awards that same year it won Best Film from any Source USA. At the Cannes Film Festival it won Best Actress and the Jury Special Prize. At the Golden Globes it won the Best Screenplay. Bette Davis filmed all of her scenes in 16 days. Some of the cast wanted there to be a sequel to this film but at the last minute they abandoned it and decided it just wouldn’t work.
