Loosely adapted from the novel Strangers by Taichi Yamada. The other film that Andrew Haigh has directed is 45 Years (2015). Fantastic cast list with the likes of Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell and Claire Foy. I thought both Andrew Scott’s and Paul Mescal’s performances were both excellent. I very much enjoyed the musical score composed by Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch. The themes that are present are reconciliation, grief, love, longing, loneliness and memory.
