THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

I really enjoyed this film. Based on a novel by John Green. I have to say that I didn’t find it an easy watch and found myself crying all the way through. The most upsetting bit of the film was the ending which I have to say I did not see coming. The whole film was very sensitively handled. It did remind me of the film Now is Good (2012). I think that both Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley do a superb job and in The Fault in Our Stars I thought they played two lovely people that you could actually get to know and like. Shailene Woodley insisted that her friend Ansel Elgort read the script and the novel before his first meeting with the filmmakers. Nat Wolff and Laura Dern don’t have much to work with but I thought their performances were fantastic. The only thing I am not sure about is how well the scenes worked with them going to Amsterdam.
