The Souvenir

THE SOUVENIR

Review: A young shy film student in the early 80’s becomes romantically involved with a charismatic but untrustworthy man.
Director: Joanna Hogg
Actors: Neil Young, Tosin Cole, Jack McMullen, Frankie Wilson, Honor Swinton Byrne, Janet Etuk, Chyna Terrelonge-Vaughan, Tom Burke, Tilda Swinton, Alice McMillan, Crispin Buxton and Richard Ayoade
Year: 2019
Genre: Drama, Mystery and Romance
Conclusion: 4/5
This film is executive produced by Martin Scorsese. This is autographically inspired by a true story. This means that it is fact and fiction. Joanna Hogg was writing this script based on her real-life experiences while attending film school in London in the early ’80s. I enjoyed all the performances but I thought in particular at how good Tom Burke’s performance was. Honor Swinton Byrne is the real life daughter of Tilda Swinton.
