Conclusion: 3/5
This did remind me a lot of Mr.Turner (2014) for obvious reasons. I did find Mrs. Lowry and Son a more enjoyable story. Both Vanessa Redgrave and Timothy Spall give fantastic performances. The house seen in the film from the outside is actually the real house of Lowry. Apparently this story has already been on the stage, therefore watching this does feel like you are watching a stage play. I do think that they captured the 1930’s era really well and researched it. The script was also well written and thought out. Also with the script it was very dry and also humorous at the same time.
