Adapted from a 2014 novel by Josh Malerman called “Bird Box”. For me this film just didn’t work. It started off quite well and on a promising note but just fell flat. The point in the film where I decided I couldn’t take it seriously was when Tom Hollander turned up. I love Tom Hollander as an actor but felt he was totally miscast. Sandra Bullock tried her best but even she couldn’t save the film. Susanne Bier has done some fantastic work in the past including one of my favourite films Love Is All You Need (2012). This film would have worked better as a little mini-TV series rather than a full feature length film.
