Juliet, Naked

JULIET, NAKED

Review: Annie starts a transatlantic romance with a now faded, singer-songwriter, Tucker Crowe. This also happens to be the subject of Duncan’s musical obsession. Duncan and Annie have been in a long-term relationship with each other.
Director: Jesse Peretz
Actors: Chris O’Dowd, Rose Byrne, Kitty O’Beirne, Ko Iwagami, Lily Newmark, Denise Gough, Phil Davis, Ethan Hawke, Azhy Robertson, Eleanor Matsuura, Ayoola Smart and Enzo Cilenti
Year: 2018
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Music and Romance
Conclusion: 3/5
Adapted from a book by Nick Hornby. I thought that this was a really funny and charming film. I love any film that has got Ethan Hawke in. I think he is amazing. I was completely convinced by his performance and believed in his character. The actress Rose Byrne was six months pregnant when filming for this film. It was announced in December 2014 that the novel would be adapted into a film and be produced by Judd Apatow, with Kate Winslet attached to star. Chris O’Dowd and Rose Byrne starred together in Bridesmaids (2011).  It reminded me a bit of the old 90’s films that we used to have where there was no rudeness involved.
