Fantastic performances from both Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet who are perfectly cast. Johnny Depp was the first to sign on to this film followed by Kate Winslet. Dustin Hoffman has now appeared in two films about Peter Pan, as he was in Hook (1991) and now this. This is a deeply affecting portrait of the creation and evolution of the children’s classic. It is a very heartfelt and beautiful film. This movie was turned into a Broadway musical that opened on April 15, 2015 but the production closed on August 21, 2016 after running 565 performances. At the Academy Awards in 2005 this won 1 Oscar and that was for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score.
