Conclusion: 2/5
The problem that I have with this film is that all the comedy sequences are right at the beginning. For instance one line to quote from Emily Middleton is “The tickets are non-refundable I want you to put the fun into refundable” (this is when she is talking to her mum just after splitting up from her boyfriend). After the first 20-25 minutes I then didn’t seem to laugh at all. It was more then an adventure. The comedy never then continued or got past the first half an hour. I am afraid to say that it no way passed the six laugh test. Amy Schumer is always fantastic and a joy to watch. Apparently the film’s studio originally didn’t want Goldie Hawn for the film. It was Amy Schumer that insisted and even threatened to leave the project if Goldie Hawn wasn’t cast. Even though this film takes place in Ecuador and Colombia all of the filming was done in Hawaii. Watching this film did make me realise how easy it is for young people to fall into a trap and made me also to be careful and not trust some people when out travelling. You think you can trust these people but think again. I somehow wish this film was better than it was.
