Koyaanisqatsi

KOYAANISQATSI

Review: A collection of expertly photographed phenomena which has no conventional plot. All the footage shown focuses on nature, humanity and the relationship between them all.
Director: Godfrey Reggio
Actors: Lou Dobbs and Ted Koppel
Year: 1983
Genre: Documentary and Music
Conclusion: 4/5
Watching this is an unforgettable cinematic experience. It is unique, profound, mesmerising and thought provoking. The title of this film is a Hopi Indian word meaning ‘Life out of Balance’. The musical score by Philip Glass matches very well to the different visuals that we see. Scoring for this film took about 3 years and was a continually evolving process. It is very well edited and quickly moves on to the next photograph. You never get bored. It almost took 6 years to make this film.
