Apparently on the movie poster it says “Shia LaBeouf has never been better”. What I can say is that this is a big step up from The Transformers films. He has also just starred in American Honey which he was very good in. It was good but found it didn’t really work as a film. After filming this film Shia LaBeouf himself actually started to feel suicidal. There were some moments in this that I did find confusing and scenes that didn’t quite work. The film itself didn’t quite know where it wanted to go. In America this was already out a year before it was released in the U.K. Once released in the U.K. in its opening weekend it only sold one ticket! It highlights the issue of post traumatic stress disorder suffered by many U.S. veterans.
