The Meddler

THE MEDDLER

Review: Marnie Minervini is an ageing widow from New York City. She follows her daughter, Lori to Los Angeles and hopes to start a new life after her husband passes away.
Director: Lorene Scafaria
Actors: Susan Sarandon, Rose Byrne and J.K. Simmons
Year: 2015
Genre: Comedy, Drama and Romance
Conclusion: 3/5
This is from the same director who worked on Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012).  Susan Sarandon is a terrific actress. I was surprised at how little J.K. Simmons was in it for. I thought he would have a much bigger part to play. The artist that is singing every time Marnie is driving her car is Beyoncé. Rose Byrne has been in films such as Bridesmaids (2011) and most recently Bad Neighbours (2014-2016). At times this does fall into sitcom territory, has some amusing scenarios and also some very poignant moments.
