JOHN WICK
Review: A formidable former hitman has been out of the game for five years. He is compelled to return when a group of Russian lowlifes break into his house.
Director: Chad Stahelski
Actors: Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Willem Dafoe and Ian McShane
Year: 2014
Genre: Action, Adventure, Crime and Thriller
Conclusion: 3/5
Not much in the way of script, it was very boring and repetitive. Keanu Reeves can do so much better than this. There isn’t much story line to go by. For me it just took far too long for the film to get going. I wasn’t overly impressed with his stunts although he did 90% of them himself. His preparation for the role included weapons and martial arts training (8 hours per day for 4 months). There isn’t much in the way of depth or complexity. This is Keanu Reeves’ sixth time playing a role named John. I just want to say that I won’t be rushing to see John Wick 2 which has just been released in cinemas. Apparently there are a lot more sequels on the way.
