Mad Max: Fury Road

Review: A post-apocalyptic action drama in which a man teams up with a woman to rescue a group of women. The group of women belong to an evil warlord who controls of what remains of life’s necessities.
Director: George Miller
Actors: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Josh Helman
Year: 2015
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy and Sci-Fi
Conclusion: 3/5
Apparently all of the film was shot in sequence. In April of this year Tom Hardy announced that he would sign on for another 3 Mad Max films. Apparently the next Mad Max film that will be out is going to be called Mad Max: The Wasteland. Actor Tom Hardy had a dog named Max that was given to him when he was a teenager; he passed away in 2011. The dog’s name was in honour to Mad Max (1979).  Nicholas Hoult is unrecognizable in this. I really didn’t recognize him. The action in this never stops for one second. After a while it does get a bit too much and you find yourself getting tired. Certain screenings of this have been shown in black and white. The breathing apparatus that is used by Tom Hardy is very similar to the one that he used as Bane in The Dark Night Rises (2012). Just two of the main themes that come across is to do with Women and Femininity and also Man and the Natural World. At the Academy Awards in 2016 this won 6 Oscars. They were for Best Achievement in Film Editing, Best Achievement in Costume Design, Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Achievement in Sound Mixing, Best Achievement in Sound Editing and also Best Achievement in Production Design. At the Bafta Awards in 2016 this won 4 Awards. They were for Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design and also Best Makeup and Hair.
